Common Types of
Property Extensions
There are three main types of property extensions and the one we recommend for your property will depend on a number of factors including property style, available space, planning regulations, your budget and needs.
SIDE EXTENSION
Generally involves building out 1.25m to the side of the property and finishing flush at the back of the main part of the house. Clients can then choose to have either a single or double storey build.
REAR EXTENSION
Where the end of the property is extended to approximately 5m x 3m (STPP) and can include huge roof windows to allow maximum natural light into the newly created space.
L-Shape Extension
Involves building an extension to the side and rear of the property, sometimes extending 3 to 4 meters into the garden. This creates a huge kitchen diner living space for the family.
